Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management

System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100D, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. This role provides leadership to the quality team and works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure product conformity and operational excellence.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Required Experience & Training

5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong hands-on experience with AS9100D

Experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, or precision manufacturing

Proficiency in root cause analysis tools

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

Strong leadership and shop-floor communication skills

Experience leading audits (internal, customer, and registrar)

Experience with corrective action systems and continuous improvement

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Experienced in using visual and mechanical inspection tools (e.g. microscope, gages, micrometer, caliper, comparator, etc).

A proven track record in providing excellent customer service and a commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience & Training

ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM/OE, etc.)

AS9100 or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification

Experience with MRB, FAI (AS9102), SPC, and PFMEA

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills; Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels

within the organization and outside; Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and engineering documentation;

Strong systems and software skills - word processing, spreadsheets, computer applications; Advanced Mathematic skills;

Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to organize, prioritize and successfully multitask; Be adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; Strong analytical skills; Must be very familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for piece part, assembly and system level inspections, verifications and validations; Must have a thorough understanding of quality programs; Experience with implementation and management of PPAP.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform part inspections per company quality procedures, customer specification, and standard industrial practices.

Responsible for the techniques and methods used, and personnel employed in the inspection process, assuring that productsnare manufactured according to required workmanship practices and standards.

Coordinates of employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions for the quality assurance specialists and inspectors.

Provide quality interface to customers.

Ensure that testing standards, procedures, and equipment provide reliable results and prevent shipment of off quality

products. Assure that there is an effective calibration and maintenance program.

Approve vendors in conjunction with the purchasing department.

Administrates and controls RMA system and analyzes data for product quality issues and initiates corrective action.

Coordinate quality activities with all other departments to include training, certification and process controls

Ensure that site meets external requirements of customers and regulatory agencies.

Responsible for collecting quality data, data analysis and reporting for meeting
